Sierra Lakes was designed by Ted Robinson
and has views of the San Gabriel and San Bernardino Mountains -
particularly beautiful at this time of year, with the potential
for snow-capped peaks. The course has wide, rolling fairways and
no environmental areas but some water. It is a good challenge without
being punitive, with some long par 4 holes, strategically placed
bunkers and
sloping greens. The course is generally in great shape and is fun
to play for golfers of every skill level.
Directions: You can reach Sierra Lakes easily from just about
anywhere. Take the 210 from the valley (101/134 to 210 east in Pasadena,
continuing to follow the 210 signs for San Bernardino), or take
the 91/60/10 freeways east to the I-15 freeway north; exit the I-15
at the 210 east. Take the 210 east and exit at Sierra Avenue. Turn
left/north on Sierra and drive 1/4 mile to the traffic light at
Clubhouse Drive. Turn left on Clubhouse Drive to the course directly
ahead.
